Arabic hadith text
عن أبي موسى الأشعري رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال:
عن أبي موسى الأشعري رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: «مَنْ حَمَلَ عَلَيْنَا السِّلَاحَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا».
English translation
Abu Mūsa al-Ash‘ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said:

The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) warns against carrying weapons against Muslims to intimidate or rob them. Whoever does so unjustly has committed a serious crime and a major sin and deserves this stern warning.

It is prohibited to scare Muslims with weapons and the like, even if done jokingly.
